The best way you can help our lakes is to prevent litter from reaching them. Litter on roads can easily end up in our water so think about adopting your street. You can also pick from the locations listed, but taking care of our own neighbourhoods can often have a bigger impact. For clean-ups in the City of Vernon or District of Coldstream, The Regional District of North Okanagan offers an Adopt-a-Stream Program that includes free waste pick up and supplies such as garbage bags, gloves, and safety vests.
